I wish I had read these reviews first. I had an in-person interview at the Fort Worth office. I sat in the waiting room at least 30 minutes. He came in wearing headphones and read over my resume. This had to be the first time he was looking at my resume. He also had not looked at my portfolio (website). He told me my previous experience was not enough. I worked at a printing company. He told me this was the opposite of computers, that my experience actually did more bad than good. Went on about jpegs and pdfs. It's not that big of a deal man. To be clear, I also have experience in web and app design. He was unimpressed with the programs I used. He told me that my portfolio being a Wix program was "embarrassing." Wordpress on the otherhand, was okay. He mocked me for using Adobe Creative Suite for design and said I should just be able to code responsive design outright. He told me most of the people who sit in my chair are young guys who can code then asked why he should hire me. I told him I'm a designer, not a developer. He asked for suggestions on his website. I told him he needs to trim the text and make it easier to read, and an overall brighter aesthetic. He got defensive and said his website makes $6 million a year. He talked about how evil dentists are. He used condescending words and phrases, "kid," "just between us girls," etc. He asked when I graduated high school, calculated my age in front of me and asked if I still lived at home. Who asks that? At the end, he said if they wanted to work with me, I'd get an email, but if not, he "couldn't make it happen." The guy is very proud of his accomplishments. Please go read the "about" page on his website. His name is Bil and he named his company Brighter Image Lab (after himself).
