      I interviewed at Brightspot

      Interview

I interviewed with Brightspot for a part-time, temporary role covering a maternity leave. The process included multiple interviews, and I invested a significant amount of time preparing and participating. Throughout the process, I repeatedly asked about DEIA priorities and was reassured that diversity and inclusion were core to the company’s culture. However, during the final virtual interview, I disclosed that I am disabled and would need to mask in the office if hired. The senior leader I met with visibly shut down, and it was clear the conversation had changed dramatically. Shortly after, I was not offered the role. I asked for feedback but didn't receive a response, which was extremely unprofessional. While many team members were polite and professional, this experience left me questioning how inclusive the company truly is, particularly for disabled employees. Pros: – Some team members were professional and polite – Interview scheduling was clear Cons: – Time-intensive interview process for a temporary, part-time role – Final interview indicated disability disclosure negatively impacted outcome – No feedback provided after interview – Leadership behavior raises concerns about how inclusive the company truly is
