Straight forward. Very long wait process for the application to the interview and the offer... Maybe like a 3 month wait or more depending on negotiation and start date. Some people might not be able to wait that long.

Question 1
Tell us about your experience with library programs.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Broward County Library (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in Aug 2017
Interview
Applied online. Contacted and arranged interview via skype. Panel group facilitated questions and the entire process was about 30-45 minutes. Was offered the job after one week, but was then left waiting over a month for a salary offer. They even wanted me to go through more background checks and medical clearance prior but I asked for the salary offer first before anything further. The background check spans 10 years and although I didn't have anything to hide found it very invasive.

Question 1
What would you do if you found teenagers huddled around a computer station looking at inappropriate material?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Broward County Library (Pembroke Pines, FL) in July 2011
Interview
It was a phone interview with managers from various libraries looking to fill Librarian 1 positions. The questions were asked in a round robin, with each manager asking 3-4 questions each. It wasn't difficult, but every Librarian 1 candidate gets asked the same questions, no matter what your specialty. I was interviewing for youth services but was asked several questions about specific adult resources. I got my offer via phone the next day.
