I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bumble Inc. (London, England) in Aug 2016
Interview
I applied online, via LinkedIn. The initial responce was quite fast. Few e-mail and an introduction chat with HR member. Next stop was a Skype interview with the MicroStrategy team. We had a regular talk of what I did, what I know. Next stop was a visit in the HQ (UK). Badoo took care of everything: flights, taxis and hotel. Everything was good there. The visit consisted of a tour of the office with HR and then 4 technical focused talks. My understanding was those were technical talks with an open question "do I fit the team". After those meetings I was informed I would be contacted on Monday or Tuesday. Everything went south from here. No contact till Wednesday, when I dropped the HR an e-mail. On Thursday, I got a short, standard e-mail saying: "We're not interested, thank you for participating." from a generic, no-respond e-mail address. To be honest, I was expecting a call or at least a little longer information saying what I did wrong, what were my short commings, etc. Somewhere between the lines I got the feeling I was too cocky... For anyone going for an interview with Badoo, I would recomend to be honest, humble and treat the interview as an corporate business, not a friendly chat.
Thanks for your feedback, and we appreciate your ongoing interest in the company.
We are sorry you feel you didn't receive sufficient feedback after your interview - accordingly we've reviewed the response sent to you post interview, and unfortunately cannot agree that you were sent a generic standard email. We have provided quite specific feedback about why we were not progressing to an offer, and this was done within 3 working days of your team interview. We will continue to strive to make our feedback loop even more timely.
We wholeheartedly agree with your recommendation for future interviewees at Badoo to be honest and humble though - these are indeed qualities we look for in all future Badoo employees.
