Arranged 2 calls with the recruitment coordinator, heard nothing both times. Emails and phone calls were ignored. Looking like an exciting opportunity for a brilliant company; although it seems that your internal talent team doesn’t do you justice and are very unapologetic about wasting my time.

Interview
I had two remote interviews with Butternut Box. The first was a light introductory chat, the second more structured with direct questions about challenges in the role. Both interviewers were professional and communication was clear, with a follow-up email offering feedback, which I appreciated.
The main issue is that the role was advertised as a Brand Ambassador position, but it is in fact a commission-only sales job. There is no base salary, no paid training, and no way to predict earnings in a new region beyond comparisons with other areas. In my opinion, a genuine brand ambassador role should come with a salary.
I also felt that some of my concerns, such as selling in low-income areas or acknowledging that raw dog food is a competing premium option, were not well received.
Ultimately, I didn’t get the job, and I think my reservations came across. If you have solid sales experience and can afford the financial risk, it might suit you. But if you’re expecting a typical brand ambassador role, go in knowing that it’s 100% commission-based sales.
