I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at CBC/Radio-Canada (Toronto, ON) in July 2013
Interview
Process was thorough, but abstract - though I insisted we discuss salary at the outset, I never received a direct answer - when I received the offer, the payband was below what I could accept. The job that was posted ultimately morphed into something else that I wasn't too keen on either. The group seemed enthusiastic, but it took little to wow them. There was quite a bit of bureaucracy, but they did a background check and called my references.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at CBC/Radio-Canada in Aug 2022
Interview
The interview process was straightforward and relatively quick. From applying to starting the job, it was about six weeks. Once the process got started, I had an interview, submitted references and received an offer in about a week.

Question 1
How will working in this position support your longterm career goals?
Terrible experience. Had a recruiter reach out in the evening asking to set up a phone interview for the next morning. I replied promptly with a time, spent the evening preparing - received no reply, no phone call - now zero interest in this position. Would not want to work for a company that treats prospective candidates this way!
I applied online. I interviewed at CBC/Radio-Canada (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Submitted an application through their online portal and received follow up by email within a week of the job closing. All communications were from the HR team (different people each time) and via email.
Although the role would have been in the Hamilton office, both interviews were in Toronto. The first interview included standard questions with 2 interviewers (managers who the successful candidate would be reporting to). Was called back in for 2nd interview with the same interviewers the following week and asked to do a full marketing presentation. Did not hear back from HR dept with any news until I prompted them, over 3 weeks after they said a decision would be made.
Was very disappointing that after 2 out of town visits that required time off from my current job and the time it took to prepare a presentation they didn't even have the courtesy to inform me about whether I was successful or not...if I hadn't emailed them I don't think they would have followed up whatsoever. The rest of the process was fine but when communication mattered most they were rather unprofessional.

Question 1
Most of the questions called for an examples of when a skill was used in past roles or how I would handle specific marketing/communications-related challenges
