I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CECO Environmental in Oct 2024
Interview
The interview with the hiring manager was extremely disappointing for me. First, he was late which I understand can happen with anyone. During the interview, he constantly yawned and sat with his arms crossed, giving the impression that he had little interest in conducting the interview. It seemed as though he had already made up his mind about rejecting me before even starting the conversation, and his questions appeared to be designed to justify that decision.
He asked me questions unrelated to the position, seemingly just to "test my knowledge," and although I know I answered them correctly (I verified after the interview), he still felt the need to add his own comments to my responses (which was the same thing I said). The entire conversation felt condescending, as though I did not deserve to be there, and compared my background to his own, despite my relevant work experience and education from a reputable university.
One of the "tell me about a time" questions caught me off guard when he yawned while I had just started answering, which disrupted my focus. It was a simple enough question which I had a legitimate answer to. At the very least, he could have covered his mouth or apologized, as I understand that everyone can have tiring days. After just 2 lines, he interrupted saying just tell me the final result (again, no interest in the story, just a formality question)
Before my interview, I had seen a similar review here regarding bias. The reason I am sharing my experience is to alert the other candidates. I hope you stay focused and give your best effort, even if the interviewer seems disengaged.
As for the company, I do not expect anything, as the individual is quite senior. I genuinely feel sorry for the people who report to him. His responses to my follow-up questions were rude, obnoxious, and unprofessional.
On a positive note, the recruiter was pleasant to speak with.

Question 1
The basic interview questions, nothing out of the box or memorable enough to be shared here.
I met with the Western Divisional Manager and went over how I would be a good fit for the position. It was typical interview process. I also met with the Sales Manager which asked my background.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at CECO Environmental in May 2014
Interview
The interview phone call I had was very uncoordinated, human resource manager did not have my current resume and was not sure what job I was applying for. The interview phone call did not last very long and was not very detailed. It was as if they did not want to be making the call to me that day.
