It appears they may be looking for a different type of Business Developer. The overall dynamic may inadvertently come across as a market intelligence sharing session with a junior interviewer. Senior candidates should clarify the interview panel and scope beforehand. A small note for the company: although it is a fashion firm, dressing more formally (e.g., avoiding sneakers) is advisable when meeting Senior-level candidates, as it reflects professionalism.
