Interview
I received an email from the HR asking whether if I was interested for this internship position. After that got call from the Hiring Manager of the team and one of the Engineers. The call from the Manager was more of kind of like a screening round. He wanted to know more about me. The interview with the Engineer was more in depth regarding my previous internships and project experiences. He seemed fairly pleased with my answers and the outcome of the interview seemed fairly positive. He said the decision would be conveyed within 2 days. I waited for 2 weeks but no communication from them. I tried emailing the HR but he kept saying that he didn't receive any information about me from the Manager. I finally contacted the Manager myself asking for status of my application. He replied that the position had been filled already. I have still not received a formal reject email from Cadence !
The HR seems least interested in facilitating a good interview experience for people.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cadence Design Systems (Noida) in June 2019
Interview
There was an hour and a half long test following which students were either asked to leave (those who didn't clear the test ) or move to another building for the interview process. The entire process took around 10 hours.

2 rounds of interview. Telephonic. First round was with the hiring manager. Asked resume based physical design questions.
Spoke to 2 team members in the second round. Asked questions on design flow. In-depth questions about the tool. Also asked if I see a career in Application Engineering, and if yes, then why.

Interview
I got email from technical director regarding the internship. Then the hiring manager called up and asked few basic questions. He then arranged a phone interview with the technical director. I gave total four phone interviews. First Interview was with the hiring manager. Second with the technical director and third fourth with the team. The interviews were easy. I guess it was my bad luck not to be selected as the technical director called up and said they had to take a very close call. I was very much interested in the internship.
