I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Calderdale Council in Feb 2024
Interview
Interviewed with a manager and assistant lawyer in the commercial contracts team. The interview went fairly well, although I was uncertain about the training opportunities in the role. During the interview I was informed that the council were highly flexible in their ways of working. When the job offer came, it turned that they were anything but. Further the training plan to get me up to speed was sketchy at best. Negotiations were slow and somewhat cumbersome. I had secured the interview through a recruiter, who was excellent but then she went on leave, her colleague was poor in her absence and caused miscommunication between myself and the employer. It was a good role but ultimately it was the right decision not to join.
