      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CapIntel in Apr 2025

      Interview

I completed an assignment and went through an interview with a recruiter, but was rejected. The reason I'm giving this a thumbs-down is because of what I feel is a double standard. Candidates are explicitly told not to use AI, yet the company uses AI tools to take notes, record interviews, and more. While candidates are given the option to opt out of being recorded and or use of AI, let’s be honest, most of us hesitate to do so out of concern that it might reflect poorly on us or jeopardize our chances. I also question whether the tool that they use is strictly limited to note-taking and recording; it’s likely to show some metrics that would play a big role in influencing decisions. That said, the recruiter I spoke with was very friendly and professional, and they provided helpful answers even when my questions went beyond their scope. The feedback I got on the rejection was good as well.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and experience. We know interviews take time and energy, and we appreciate every candidate who invests in our process. Your concerns about fairness and the use of AI tools are completely valid, and we appreciate your sharing this perspective. We've had instances of candidates reading AI generated answers during conversations, so we've asked candidates not to use AI during assessments so we can get a clear view of their individual thinking and approach. The AI tools we use internally to support note-taking and reduce bias. Our AI note taker is not used for candidate evaluation or decision making. That said, we understand how this can feel like a double standard, and we have taken this feedback to heart and have updated the phrasing of our AI disclosures and policy to better reflect how we are using AI and what our expectations are of candidates. If you wish to speak with someone from our team about your experience in more detail, we encourage you to email tande@capintel.com. Thank you again for your feedback.
