      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Capital Group (Irvine, CA) in Jan 2022

      Interview

Long story short, I was GHOSTED after going thru 7 interviews conducted in 3 stages that was a 1-2 month process. After the last interview, I tried to follow up on two occasions with reasonable time apart and was last told they making a decision and would get back which they never did. At this point, the company had taken off the job posting then a month later they reposted the listing. The hiring team is not respectful of candidates' time and they don't embody the company's core values. In hindsight, I'm glad I dodged a bullet with this company. *3-stage hiring process: 1. Digital Interview - 4 behavioral questions, 2 mins to answer each 2. Interview w/ Recruiter - Informational/Behavioral, 30 mins 3. Back-to-Back Interviews with 3 Hiring Managers - 2 behavioral, 1 live technical (HackerRank), 45 mins each *Initially, I had a phone screen before the 3-stage process. Made it through the 3rd stage but was scheduled for another 30 min interview with the program manager. It was another informational/behavioral interview but the pm was just going through the motions and was told that the hiring team would follow up which they never did.

Describe a time where you had to use your technical expertise in a practical way? Describe a time when you were uninterested in doing something? How did you handle that? Why Capital Group? Describe a situation where you were presented with a problem outside of your comfort zone and you were able to come up with a creative solution.

      Interview

So I applied in June for a "IT Associate New Grad" position and had total of three rounds of interviews. The process took 3 months in total. The recruiters are not typically responsive. Had to send many follow-ups to acquire feedback. First round was a online virtual interview, where candidates had to answer behavioral questions in a timely matter. Answers are either video recorded or enters as text. Sample questions are: 1. Given a ....... situation (adversary)....how would you deal with it. 2. Describe a situation where you had deal with a technical issue, and how did you resolve it. The second round was an interview with a recruiter and a solutions sitting aside giving feedback and answering questions. The interview was more like a information session about the company and the position. Sample Questions were: 1. Tell me about yourself 2. Projects that you did Third round was the final interview. I interviewed with engineer managers and the associate VP. Questions were mostly standard behavioral questions. Notable questions were: 1. How would your friends describe you as a person? 2. During stressful times, how would handle multiple tasks? 3. How do you deal with coworker issues? 4. What's your working style? 5. Please describe a moment when you had to deal with a problem on your own. Overall interview difficulty was okay, but I was expecting more technical questions. The waiting time for feedback is horrendous though.
