Interview
Straight forward questions on programming experience, skills, etc. Asked why i wanted the position, career goals and ambitions. Asked a few technical questions. Asked how I would contribute to the phd student community.
Formal. Included a panel of 4 members, including Departmental Director and supervisor team, all asking interview questions that varied from general and background experience to more technical on procedures and theoretical aspects.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cardiff University (Cardiff, Wales) in July 2023
Interview
It was a 30 minute Zoom interview in which I had to give a presentation on previous research, such as BSc dissertation or MSc dissertation research. Following the interview, the interviewers asked some questions about the presentation. After this, the interview included some discussion about the PhD position.
