I came across the role on LinkedIn and applied through Care.com's website. Received an email about a week later from Shane, my recruiter, to schedule a phone interview. The initial call was a casual conversation about my current experience, interests, he provided a good overview of the company, role and next steps. Interview process is three rounds and it took less than 10 days.
First is a behavioral interview with Engineering Manager, where we discussed my experience, why I was interested in joining Care.com, and how I aligned with their values.
Second is a system design interview with two senior engineers. It lasted for about 90 minutes and involved a series of follow-up questions at each and every step of my decision making. At the time, it felt like curveballs and edge cases, but it was clear they were genuinely interested in understanding my problem-solving approach and how I shaped the final solution. Very collaborative and engaging.
Final interview is with a Director, and it felt more like a casual discussion. We talked about my thoughts on technology, AI tools, and some behavioral questions. There were no right or wrong answers, and he too genuinely interested in my thought process and how I approach different challenges.
Throughout, all conversations felt very casual and natural, everyone was genuinely interested in understanding my motivation for joining Care.com and how well my thoughts aligned with their needs. All of the team members I interacted with were open, informative, and supportive. A special mention to Shane, who was brilliant in coordinating everything. He kept me in the loop at every step and made the process smooth and transparent.
