      Customer Service Representative Interview

      3 Jan 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Casper in Dec 2023

      Interview

I was interviewed twice. One by the company recruiter and the other by the manager and district manager. The first interview was supposed to be short and basic questions but over an hour of my time taken when it was initially said it would only take a few minutes. The interviewer forgot my first interview so we had to reschedule it which I thought was rude. If a candidate does that, they don't get a second chance. It really foreshadowed how little they value potential candidates time. I was accepted onto round 2 of interviews to the manager and DM, The first question they asked me was where I was from. They responded "oh no interview over" as some kind of joke. I can only assume it was racist as my city is made up of mostly Indian immigrants and that kind of derogatory comments are made to my city as a PC way of being racist. So if you are not white, I don't recommend even applying here. I already mentally checked out of the interview at that point but continued anyway. The questions they asked were not structured or targetting any of my skills and they were just randomly asking things that may or may not have really applied to the position. It seems as soon as they saw me their mind was made up. I've never not been offered a sales position and felt like based on the questions they asked, that my competency was being questioned. I wonder if they would have accepted my extensive experience if I were a man. They wanted someone long term as well and kept asking what my plans were for the future. They also were not straight on how much I would be getting paid only replying with "you can make X amount". I'm assuming it's because they pay minimum wage with commission and don't want people to decline the position because of it, which is misleading. The whole thing was a waste of time and I genuinely can't believe there is just blatant racism from someone so high up in this company.
