Friendly and communicative process. Questions made sense for the position I was interviewing for. Opportunities to get to know several team members. Good experience all around. Appreciated the opportunity. And to get to know the org.
The interview process went smoothly. The interview was conducted via Zoom, and the questions were all standard interview questions. Some were behavioral questions and others were more focused on grant writing. During the interview, I had to complete a writing test. I ended up never hearing anything back from them after the interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Catholic Social Services (AK) (Anchorage, AK) in Apr 2020
Interview
I applied for the HR Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator position and quickly thereafter was contacted for an interview. The interview was pretty low-key with an HR representative and a member of upper management The questions I was asked were pretty standard; "What do you know about Catholic Social Services", "Tell us about yourself", etc. At the end of the interview, I was asked to complete consent forms for them to check my references. I was told my by references that they were in fact contacted. I reached out to the HR representative one week after my interview to see where they were in the hiring process. I was told the position was closed and they would be reaching out by the end of the following week after a decision was made. The end of the week came and went and I never heard a thing. I think it is incredibly unprofessional to not have the courtesy to let applicants know they were not selected. This reminds me to be mindful of common courtesies in the event I am eventually hired for an HR role that involves recruiting. Especially during these uncertain times, people should not be left hanging after a job interview, please be mindful and courteous hiring managers.
