I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Central Indiana Community Foundation (Indianapolis, IN) in Aug 2025
Interview
I interviewed with the Controller and Senior Director of Finance who were both very professional and pleasant. It was a very thorough but fairly standard interview with no unexpected questions. Because of other comments on Glassdoor about a lack of follow-up after the interview, I specifically asked if I would be notified if I was selected for the next round of interviews even if I was not selected. I was told I would be notified either way. I sent a thank you letter the next day, and it has now been almost a month since my interview and I have not heard a peep, which in my opinion is very unprofessional. I believe this responsibility, though, would fall on the VP of People and Culture, not those with whom I interviewed.

Question 1
Describe a project you worked on outside of your own department.
I applied online. I interviewed at Central Indiana Community Foundation (Indianapolis, IN) in Jan 2023
Interview
The first round was a virtual interview with HR , the person I would report to and that person's boss. It was standard questions like why did you apply here? What are your strength and weaknesses. Next, I went on to interview with those same two people and an executive in-person. I'll be honest, he had a weird vibe and his questions were kind of all over the place. One time he just trailed off and someone had to ask him was that even a question? It was odd. After that interview, I wasn't really engaged with the position, but hopeful. I was given a timeline and yep, you guessed it NEVER heard from them. I saw another position that interested me months later and reached out to HR to see if my information was still on file and she referred me to the HR person handling that opening. I sent her an email, etc. and yep, you guessed it never heard a peep from them.

How do you feel about working with people from different backgrounds?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Central Indiana Community Foundation (Indianapolis, IN) in Sept 2022
Interview
First interview was virtual with two employees. About an hour of several questions that focused on my approach to the position and how my experience is relevant. Second interview was in person and with two other people in another department. Insightful questions and good conversation. I never heard back, however, even after contacting them twice past the date they told me I'd hear an answer by.
