I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Chartwell Law (New York, NY) in Feb 2024
Interview
One Zoom interview with two partners which went well. They were very nice but it seemed that they were desperate for an associate who would last long term. Hinted at high turnover at the associate level. Billable requirement was average and they seemed to prefer an associate who would be in-person as much as possible
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Chartwell Law in Oct 2022
Interview
This was a remote interview- a panel of sorts. The interviewers were supposed to be a Partner and two others. However the one person was a no-show, so we proceeded with the Partner and one of the support staff in a haphazard, awkward fashion. The Partner's video feed kept cutting in and out, making his questions difficult to understand, and I was never sure if my answers were being received on their end. The staff member did 80% of the talking/questioning. (The two were in separate locations.) I get the feeling the absentee-person was supposed to take the lead because the questions were scattered, no real introductions took place, and we just jumped into questions. The "interview" was over in less than half an hour. I should've been more proactive to be sure, but I was taken aback.
