I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Checkout.com (London, England) in July 2024
Interview
It took me a couple of weeks to schedule first stage interview with hiring manager. In-house recruiter couldn't send me invitation so I had to contact a couple of times to get a link to finally schedule an interview.
First stage was a hiring manager interview and it was an average conversation about project and experience. From strange questions perspective - I was asked where exactly I live. I never heard from them after that stage.

Question 1
Where do you live? Are you able to commit to 4 days at office?
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Checkout.com (London, England) in Aug 2023
Interview
One of the worst experiences in recent memory. I had an initial interview with two team members. I was told that it went very well and that the next stage was a take-home test. I was initially sent the wrong test. It was only after I pointed out that the test had nothing to do with front-end development that the correct one was sent. After completing the test, which required around 4 hours work, I was then sent an incredibly impersonal email the next day to say that the role had been filled. I sent a reply complaining that it was terrible to ask people to do technical tests and not give them any feedback or a further chance in the process. I received an apology that said the email shouldn't have been sent to me and that they were reviewing my test and considering me for another role. Since then I have been ghosted, with no feedback for the test and no updates on my application.

Question 1
What is a recent technical achievement you were proud of?
Thank you for sharing your feedback on your interview process. I am extremely disappointed to read the details of your review. We set a high bar for our interview process and fell short delivering the exceptional experience we strive to uphold for all candidates. This is unacceptable on our part, and I am working with our team to understand what went wrong so that we can prevent this from happening in the future.
Your feedback is valuable and will influence how our team shows up for candidates going forward. Thank you for taking the time to interview with us, and for your interest in working at Checkout.com. Again, we apologize for your experience.
