Not a fair process, seems like they can not plan their timing correct. Needs better coordination. Value the candidate’s time and other important factors. I had better experiences elsewhere with companies.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Checkr (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
A few meets through phone call and in person, then an onsite interview. Company is super nice and it has a really great culture. Exciting company that is disrupting a very traditional space

Question 1
tell me about one of your favorite products. why? what would you improve?
can you walk me through how you would design the login page for checkr to account for businesses like single sign on and sign in with google if customers came from single sign on companies. they dont have passwords with checkr, so what would you do? what considerations? wireframe, etc.
The hiring and interview process at Checkr was probably the best and most organized I've ever had while recruiting for roles in the tech industry. It started with a phone screen with the lead PM, and quickly after that the recruiting coordinator set up an on-site interview. During the on-site I met with several people, and the interview was equal parts role-based (for PM candidates, meeting with engineers, members of the product team, and the leadership team) as well as assessing culture fit.
As far as the actual interview questions, they were real scenarios that Checkr was experiencing as opposed to unrealistic questions that I've had in previous interviews. They made me more focused and engaged in the interview process as I felt I was already contributing to the product team.
The interviews were challenging, but unlike some other companies Checkr actually tried to establish a rapport with me and tried to get to know me. The recruiting coordinator was amazing and extremely responsive (also unlike some other tech companies). Ultimately when I got the offer I had no choice but to accept. One of the best companies and definitely one of the best recruiting experiences I have ever had!
