Interview
I was contacted on a week after applying to send in my availability for a phone interview. After the phone interview, I was contacted two days later to schedule an in-person interview. During the interview, I asked about next steps and the VP told me she wanted me to come back to meet the media relations director since she would have been my supervisor but was not present during the interview. Then she later said that the final step would be a writing test. HR later contacted me and asked me to send three professional references and asked when I could take the writing test. I was scheduled to take the writing test that same Friday and also sent them my references. Almost two weeks went by and I had heard nothing. So I began to follow up and still nothing, but HR said the Hiring Manager was on vacation and would be back Monday. The next day I was declined an offer. I feel as though the interview process was very backward and I did not have a fair chance. The fact that they asked for references but had no intentions of offering me the position was very embarrassing and I never got the chance to do the second round of internviews.
Phone screening followed by interview. Seemed like a large disconnect between who I talked to and what the role was (when asking about timeline). Received a general email rejection and no response when asked for feedback.
