I applied online. I interviewed at Children's National Hospital (Washington, DC)
Interview
The interview process was confusing. I had three rounds, each promising with 2 members of the team (first one was a screening). After the last interview I was told they would reach out after contacting my references... which was odd seeing as they spoke to my references prior to the 3rd interview. All references let me know they had been contacted and gave glowing reviews. In any case, after not hearing back for weeks I followed-up and got no response. A month after that I followed-up again and got no response. I never got a response. I got ghosted after 3 interviews, 3 references contacted, and continual communication over 2months. Without any decency of a response or rejection e-mail. They only way I "found out" something was due to looking at the job portal and seeing I was no longer under consideration.

The interview process consisted of an initial phone screening with the recruiter, followed by a formal interview with the nurse manager. The interview focused on clinical experience, patient care scenarios, teamwork, and communication skills. I was also asked behavioral questions and given the opportunity to ask questions about the role, unit culture, and expectations. The process concluded with a discussion of next steps and compensation.
