I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Chipman Design Architecture in Oct 2023
Interview
It was all handled through a recruiter who had reached out to me. He was very thorough in prepping me for the interview process. I interviewed with 5 people and it was pretty laid back and conversational. Started off with introductions, then they told me about the firm. After that they asked about my experience thus far. They asked about my technical skills, software experience, etc. Pretty general, straightforward questions. Following the interview they asked me to complete a revit assessment. They gave me the option to do it in the office or proctored. I did it proctored and overall it was a smooth process. It isn't a "test" that you can fail, it's just so they know what level of skill you'd be coming in with. They give you a revit doc with instructions on it and have you complete various tasks. If you don't know what to do you just tell them and they walk you through it. Nothing to be nervous about. I really liked the firm and seriously considered accepting the position, but it was too far of a commute
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chipman Design Architecture
Interview
I got interviewed by three people, all of them were friendly and I felt comfortable during the process. I recommend looking at their social media presence as well as their website to get a feel of their culture. They asked the typical questions: tell me about yourself, strengths, weaknesses, why would you be a good fit.

Question 1
In what direction do you want to go? (design development or construction detailing) I froze for a bit because I knew the job was detailing and drafting and my true curiosity laid in design development but I lacked experience. I knew that understanding the workflow would build a new perspective on the design process holistically.
