I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Chipotle (Newbury Park, CA) in Dec 2013
Interview
Received an email for an interview. Went in for what I thought would be a one on one interview, but ended up being a group interview. I had to wait about 20 minutes for the manager to come out and begin the interview. There were supposed to be 5 interviewees, but only 2 of us showed up. They discussed what we would be doing if hired and asked questions about goals and whether we were extroverted or introverted, as well as other typically questions. They then had different crew members ask us questions. I was then given a free meal and asked to come back the next day. The next day I came in and the manager had to leave due to a family emergency, and I was told they would call me to tell me when to come in for my next interview. I was called about 3 days later on accident when they meant to call the other interviewee (who had apparently had his second interview earlier that day) and tell him he got the job, but instead they decided to just give me the job instead of having me come in for another interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your spirit animal and what sound does it make? When the crew members were asking questions, one of them asked this one and we were expected to answer it and make the noise in the middle of the busy dining room.
Easy, straight forward questions. Started as a group interview and ended up being offered the job along with 2 other people. It was very casual and no pressure. Interviewer was friendly.

Question 1
Explain a time when you handled an upset customer?
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
