I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Chipotle in July 2015
Interview
What people don't know about Chipotle is that there are usually 2-3 interviews before you get hired. The first interview will be a group interview. I've had one group interview with 8 people and I've had another with only 4, so you never know how many people you'll be interviewing with. Your interviewers will be a combination of people, once again it varies. I interviewed with the Apprentice and General Manager for the group interview. My second interview was with the Service Manager. And my third and final interview was with the Restauranteur. Interview questions are basic. They are looking for personality (13 characteristics) and someone who will "fit" in with the team. Make sure you do your research on the company or you'll look like a joke! Learned this the hard way..

Tell me about yourself.
Why Chipotle?
What do you know about Chipotle?
What do you order?
Have you had a previous job/work experience?
Easy, straight forward questions. Started as a group interview and ended up being offered the job along with 2 other people. It was very casual and no pressure. Interviewer was friendly.

Question 1
Explain a time when you handled an upset customer?
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
