I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at City of Toronto in Sept 2024
Interview
Took months to get a call for IKM test. First the recruiters said I have to attend all the questions but the test instructions were to attend questions you know the answers. The questions were mostly not related to front end development but network, security and SOAP architecture. These people don’t know what they are looking for.

Question 1
Network, security, APIs and little about HTML and javascript
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at City of Toronto in Dec 2023
Interview
They do not have a good interview process at all. They ask you to come to the office to take an online, multiple-choice IKM JavaScript test. The test is completely irrelevant, consists of random 40 - 50 questions.
Recruiter will tell you the test will be about HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Accessibility but of course, she does not know anything about the test. It is all about JavaScript and a few questions about React.
Do not waste your time. (Also they post the same job under several other entities like Toronto Paramedic Services, just letting you know)

Question 1
IndexedDB, Drag and Drop API, window object, textbook OOP questions, and a bunch of random questions. There was even a high-level database design question. If you get a few scope, hoisting, closure and asynchronous JS questions, you can consider yourself lucky.
