Interview
The interview process began with an email to gauge mutual interest. I appreciated this because it saves so much time. The second step was a video session where we discussed processes and expectations of each other. Clever was very clear and upfront about the types and lengths of content and provided clear direction about their internal editing process. Ultimately, negotiations were simple and we signed a contract electronically.

Interview
Thorough interview asking about past experience and approach to outlining and research. Everyone was very friendly. Interviewed 3 times, two zoom calls and one phone call. Second interview was the most in-depth.
Applied to a Content Writer job and first red flag was that the qualifications were all but non-existent. The post seemed like complete BS but the salary was good so I spent a few minutes applying. The second red flag was when the application went as far as to say "sounds too good to be true?"
Instead of information about what the job is and the skills required, the entire post was padded with hand-holding nonsense like "Not an “SEO ninja” or “content marketing guru”? Don’t worry. Our team will
help hone your content marketing skills" and "we value your insights over your ability to churn out blog posts."
I have multiple published writing credits, experience proofreading, working with hardware/software and a college degree. Maybe if they had bother to put actual job requirements here instead of writing a fairy tale neither of us would have had to waste our time and I wouldn't have spent an entire week waiting for a cut/paste rejection email.
