      Senior Recruiter Interview

      20 Oct 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Richmond, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at CoStar Group (Richmond, VA) in Aug 2023

      Interview

      1. My application was originally rejected but they reconsidered me after my previous manager referred me and they said I was "rejected by mistake". 2. Had a ~20 minute screen with the recruiter 3. Three separate video interviews with the team leads that were 45 minutes each. 4. Three onsite interviews plus an office tour that took about 2.5 hours. 5. I sent 3 references to the recruiter (2 of which were my last to managers) and they scheduled called calls with them. 6. I was scheduled for one final 30 minute video interview with the VP of HR and they canceled 30 minutes before the scheduled time. The recruiter cited "they want to re-evaluate the role and will get back to me". 7. I got a call from one of my references and they let told me they got a message from the recruiter saying that I was no longer being considered for the position. In summary: -Interview process took about 6 weeks -Had 6 interviews with 1 being canceled -About 5-6 hours of interviews with 30 mins being canceled -Ultimately found out I was no longer being considered for the position through my references and never got a formal rejection call or email from the recruiter. Never got any kind of feedback or reason why they were no longer considering me. **FWIW, I really enjoyed meeting the team leads and they kept me intrigued about working here. **It's been several weeks since my last interview and the role is still posted as well. **Ultimately I think I dodged a bullet. If the recruiter experience I got is the norm, I wouldn't want to have my name tied to that type of experience as an internal recruiter here .

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Most of the questions were pretty standard "talk about your experience". One of the team lead interviews did have me go through a mock req in take meeting which was actually fun.

      Senior Recruiter Interview

      2 Sept 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Irvine, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at CoStar Group (Irvine, CA)

      Interview

phone interview, lengthy in-person interview with various leaders and stakeholders. Process seemed rushed. Interview also included a sourcing exercise which I was skeptical about, and didn’t want to do work for free, and I don’t think the vagueness I purposely left things at was what they were looking for. Everyone was welcoming but at the end of the day, the company doesn’t have the brand recognition they need to be as picky as they are with their candidate requirements. It was a bit of a turn off.

      Senior Recruiter Interview

      26 Sept 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Richmond, VA
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at CoStar Group (Richmond, VA) in Aug 2024

      Interview

They wanted unreasonable documentation and verification after jumping through every hoop they asked for tax records, w2 forms, even after calls were made to all prior jobs concerning employment records. Education records going back 20 years and even when authentic documents were given they were still more they wanted. Even down to wording on job titles over 14 years old that changed over the years of employment advanced upgrades. These things to all prior employers and professionals in the job I applied seemed excessive and totally unnecessary. It was approved by their 3rd party background people but rechecked again by someone in HR and was not totally acceptable to them and they keep raising the bar for something new they are asking for it’s seems they want me to decline so they don’t have to rescind the offer even though hiring mangers and team want me on their team. I checked the company and the labor dept has them breaking laws and keeping tabs on them for 5 years for being discriminating against certain groups

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

No problem with interviewing process the problem is with HR being unreasonable and excessive in what they wanted for background verifications.
