I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CoStar Group (Irvine, CA) in June 2021
Interview
I was approached by CoStar group recruiter through LinkedIn. He was very professional and and recommended me for 2 positions - each with different company in the group.
My first round of interviews (online video) were with Engineering Managers from both companies. These were mix of technical and non-technical conversations. Technical questions were focused on architecture and design. Non-technical conversation focused on lead role, team interaction and hand-on responsibilities. The conversations were very relaxed, positive and professional. I got pretty good idea of my role and responsibilities both positions and I selected one position to move forward.
The second round of interview (online video) was with two Senior Software Engineers and both Engineering Managers from first interview. This conversation focused mostly on technical questions in the area of software engineering best practices, working in a team environment and couple of design questions. Again, the conversation was very relaxed and positive. I felt in tune with them and the company.
My final interview (online video) was with VP of Technology. This was more of an informal chat about my role and the direction of the company and my future in it.
I found CoStar to be an amazing company. I was impressed with all the people I interviewed with. There is depth of knowledge, sense of achievement and excitement about things happening in right direction. I found their interest in me as very genuine, sincere and appreciating.
The whole recruitment process was quick, very smooth, professional and courteous. My experience with my recruiter was very positive. He provided great support and guidance, and answered all my questions.
I received an excellent offer. It was generous and well thought out . I could not join though due to urgency of some other personal matters.
