I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CodeSignal in Mar 2025
Interview
Questions were (1) Write an email to the CEO prioritizing their list of ideas (2) Product execution interview on why Spotify had a dip in average listening time (3) Product sense on how to get more gen Z people to listen to Spotify. Was weird because it was literally speaking to a robot/LLM/ChatGPT. The process overall biases towards (1) People with an “influencer” personality that can easily speak into a camera with a smile (2) People who have mastered a specific type of interview question, no matter whether that question approximates real life or not.

Question 1
Why is Spotify's average listening time going down? How can we appeal to gen z?
Engaging and virtual. Talent Acquisition was very efficient. Communication very effective. Overall a streamlined process that I would recommend. Multiple interview rounds with different teams, which was interesting. Not many canned questions, mostly it was related to the role and my specific background.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CodeSignal in July 2025
Interview
I applied online and got an auto email asking me to complete an AI based interview. It was one hour. After that I received an email telling me they wouldn't move forward but gave me a coupon to use their platform. The whole thing just felt like they wanted to acquire new users through fake hiring.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
3 questions on their AI platform. 1 writing, 1 product sense, 1 execution. You have one hour to complete all three and remember it was all AI, no human involved.
