      Anonymous employee
      Madison, WI
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at College Works Painting (Madison, WI) in July 2012

      Interview

Submitted a resume to the site and received a phone call later that week asking for an in-person interview for the position. The interview consisted of several experience based questions and several personal attitude questions.

I interviewed at College Works Painting

      Interview

I went through multiple interviews. The first was an initial phone screening, it was unannounced and quite unprofessional. Next came a group interview, with one interviewer and 4-5 interviewees. It was hosted in a food court, which should lead you to some suggestions about the company. This consisted of a few questions for each person and were geared mostly towards how your past leadership ability would make you a good candidate. It was not until this interview that they disclosed that the internship is actually just a company that backs people to make their own painting business, then takes a huge amount of their profits. I then after that I got an interview with the vice president, who tried to really sell me on the idea and make me believe that it is such a great idea. I got a call a few days later offering me the position, but it just didn't seem like something I was interested in. If the internships were was amazing as they say they are and if it really is a great way to gain experience, then they wouldn't have to sell you so hard on the idea and not even tell you the companies name until the second interview. The bottom line is the more people they have the more money that they make. You do all the work and they give you a slight financial backing and a little guidance. I would not suggest anyone take advantage of this opportunity, it is a waste of time going through the long interview process, and if you want to paint then you can do it on your own without CWP taking your profits.

Most questioned involved leadership and having a go-getter attitude. So attempt to gear your questions in that direction.
