I applied online. I interviewed at Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co. (Oak Brook, IL) in May 2019
Interview
I was contacted for an in-person interview after submitting my resume online. I arrived and while completing the paperwork given to me by the receptionist, I realized that there were about 10 of us completing paperwork to meet with the same interviewer at the same time.. but for different positions. They moved all of us into a conference room for a presentation and PowerPoint. After about 45 minutes, we were told that we'd each receive a 10 minute personal interview. Bottom line, all positions were commission only with no real insurance benefit. After the first person left for their interview, most of us got up and left. We all felt scammed as what we learned did not match the job description we had applied for. While sitting in the presentation, I could hear multiple people outside the conference room making calls and leaving messages to set up interviews. Beware!

Interview
Interviewed first by a recruiter and then a territory manager. Both were very friendly and they made me think the company would be great to work for. Questions included my work history, transferable skills, and motivations for applying.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co. (Arlington, TX) in Sept 2023
Interview
The interview process was really smooth and informational. The interviewer, in my case it was the agency owner, described each position, what the day-to-day looks like, the sales process used, and some of the products they offer. He also took the time to explain the turnover rate, what causes people to leave the sales industry, and certain things to look out for. The whole process was very informational and included the good, the bad, and everything in-between.
