      Wellsite Geologist Interview

      25 June 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Columbine Logging in Dec 2018

      Interview

Scheduled online for a time slot and the interview was simply a 20 minute phone call. Vague pre-interview survey which mostly just helped the company learn who you were. Very friendly and forward about job conditions. Seemed like the hire decision was already made when the call was placed so the conversation was more informational.

      Anonymous employee
      Midland, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Columbine Logging (Midland, TX) in July 2019

      Interview

You usually get a phone screen where the interviewer asks you questions on sedimentary rocks and the usual behavorial questions. But my interview was one on one. So the interviewer asks me my experience in geology and showed me some rocks to identify (sandstone, siltstone, shale, limestone). He described the position and asked me if I was willing to do that. Overall, it was not a difficult interview if you are prepared for it.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

1-How do you identify limestone? 3-Tell me about yourself 2-Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

      Interview

Interview could be formal or informal depending on the need for you. If they need you, you will probably get the job. You will probably have to demonstrate a little knowledge to be of use to them. Usually just one interview, if any. Hopefully some training to follow unless they really need people in the field.

      Question 1

Are you okay will an unpredictable schedule?
