I got contacted by Comfort Keepers for a phone screening which felt more like they really did not know what they were looking form as the question of FETAC Level % qualification got thrown at me, even though I specified on my cover letter that I did not have that qualification. I answered no and I still got invited for the interview, but I had to print and fill forms and bring them to them on the interview date.
Researching the website, they seemed to offer training in that domain through QQI, so I thought that they were ok with taking new applicants without experience.
After arriving i was left to my own devices to fill a form that I finished in a few minutes, but I was left to wait while other people were just discussing with their colleagues for a good 30 minutes.
After this time I was finally invited upstairs for the interview, which consisted of me giving them asking me questions they could just easily find on my CV, and led me to believe that they actually did not read it at all.
Theu once again asked me about FETAC/QQI qualifications and I was horrified to be told that I had to pay from my own money to get the qualication, while working for the company, and that I had to do this within 3 months, and that the training they are so proud of promoting of their website is just a sham, and not even giving you the credits necessary for the certification to be given.
She then explained that they would be alright giving me the training, but I still had to pay, by small installments, and that it "would be easy".
I felt extremel;y disgusted with the way they call this a job, but you still have to pay money to actually work there and get paid, while other companies take on their own time to train while you get paid by them, and you get credits for them.
Avoid working there at all costs. It is a pure scam.
