I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Commonwealth Financial Network (Boston, MA) in May 2026
Interview
Initially contacted by a recruiter on Linkedin, I scheduled an initial conversation to learn more about the role and subsequently had another interview with three members of the hiring team.
A few rounds of interviews. Started with HR which was going over resume. Then an interview with three team members. Mostly behavioral questions and why you are drawn to Commonwealth Financial.
I applied online. I interviewed at Commonwealth Financial Network (Waltham, MA) in Feb 2025
Interview
I received an invitation for a phone interview from Commonwealth for the Business Data Analyst position. When the scheduled time came, nobody called. After about 20 minutes, I emailed the interviewer who told me that they had filled the position that day.
I spent time preparing for the interview and sat waiting by the phone for 20 minutes.
Why would you even schedule a first round interview with a candidate if you're already giving offers for the position? If you do have to cancel an interview last minute, you should let the candidate know instead of just leaving them waiting for your call. And if all else fails, at the very least, you should offer an apology.
