I was contacted by this agency and they let me know the role I applied for was already filled but they asked if I'd be interested in a similar role they had available and I was! After several Zoom interviews with various team members and one Zoom interview with the entire team, it was clear that they liked me and wanted to move forward, but that they weren't really sure what type of role they were looking to fill. I asked for a clear job description and let them know I was looking for something full time. They sent me an updated job description and asked again what type of work I was looking for. I told them again that I prefer full time, but if part time or contract was the only option I'd need to see the hourly rate to make a decision.
About two weeks went by and I never heard anything back after I sent that email. I sent a follow up email to close the loop and was told they'd be in touch at the end of the month as they were working to put together a full time offer but their timeline had just been pushed back a little. I let them know I was still excited and that was fine with me as I already had a full time job and was not in any rush.
Well that was that and I never ended up hearing anything back, but I did see they hired at least 2 new people on LinkedIn while I was waiting to hear back about an offer..
The process itself was fine and the team seemed nice, but it was just a big waste of my time as they specifically reached out to me just to leave me hanging. Why not just say you hired someone else? Why keep interviewing me and telling me your timeline is getting pushed back but you post on LinkedIn and social media about new hires you've recently brought onboard?
