I applied online. I interviewed at Coord (New York, NY)
Interview
30 minute phone screen and then a 3 hour interview at Coord's office. The CEO is very direct and to the point. He was pleasant and seems like a nice person but is extremely regimented and process oriented. Personally, when considering joining a startup, I'm looking for a more entreprenural and less structured culture, so I knew immediately this wasn't a fit for me. His style might work for an applicant who is looking for a structured environiment and is interested in engineering their day and conversations.
I was told they didn't have a marketing person and created a new role. However, a quick search on LinkedIn will show they have / did have a marketing lead. This turned me off and was a red flag.
Rejection email was automated- the type you'd get if they never interviewed you at all and just looked at your CV. I found this to be poor form after someone dedicated a day to interviewing with you. In many years of interviewing, I've never not received a personal email after spending almost 4 hours interviewing with a company.
The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Coord (New York, NY) in July 2018
Interview
Submitted my resume and was scheduled to speak to the founder/CEO. Stephen is a straight shooter, asks all the right and necessary questions to filter out the BS artist.
I had to drop out the interview process because I accepted an offer at a different startup.
