The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cordell Practice Management Group (Saint Louis, MO) in Aug 2019
Interview
Pretty confident this place isn't quite sure what it is doing .... at all.
Cordell Practice Management Group is the "back office" of the Cordell & Cordell law firm and they'll be attempting to farm out their services to other mom & pop law firms across the country for services such as accounting and public relations.
They had a Public Relations Manager position posted - I have law firm public relations experience in addition to public relations experience in the financial services sector and also exposure to working for major media networks crafting content on multiple media platforms and giving me a rolodex of 100s of reporters and journalists which Cordell & Cordell could use in their pocket.
My placement record for media stories includes The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNN, Associated Press, Bloomberg, Fox News Channel, Fox Business, Tribune TV Stations, and a number of top tier law journals. Cordell & Cordell is lucky to have made 2 or 3 community papers and a couple of press releases on their website about new hiring partners.
So I came and interviewed - it was pretty much all over the place. The head of the Marketing & Comms team admits he has been doing the slovenly media coverage placements, admits he doesn't know a thing about creating messaging for internal communications, and admits Cordell Practice Management Group is lacking the basic infrastructure needed to support media relations (media kits, website, referencing materials, etc. etc.), yet apparently he is wanting someone who will just come in and be a pitching machine and just start randomly mindlessly pitching 50-60 media outlets a day, which will, given the lack of any structure or branding, fail.
So needless to say, that's the only reason I can think of for why they sent me the nice automated rejection letter and then reposted the position the next day.
Good luck to this place and to anyone who chooses to become associated with it. What a mess.

Question 1
Questions were so random and all over the place, I forget specifically what I was asked.
