I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Corning (Corning, NY) in July 2016
Interview
There was one pre-phone screen interview, and then one actual phone screen interview. This was followed by an on-site interview with 5 different people and a presentation on your research project, and a factory tour. Each person has a different set of questions that's either somewhat technical or personality/teamwork related. The last person who will interview you was the area manager (i.e. the boss of the all the previous interviewers) and asks the most technical of questions. Plan and proactively ask lots of questions, even during the factory tour.
I did not get the position but I enjoyed talking with each of the interviewers. The whole process took about 2-3 months.

Interview
I applied at the company's application site. A recruiter sent an email to ask for my convenient time for a phone screen interview. Even though I gave a certain time, the recruiter did not call for a phone screen interview.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Corning (Corning, NY)
Interview
One in-person interview at a professional conference (where I learned about Corning for the first time), two panel-style virtual interviews (three people each); Interviewers seemed to really like each other and get along well. Corning appears to have a great community of people
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
General interview questions (i.e., Tell me about a project you've worked on and your impact, What do you know about Corning [our company]?)
Process engineering questions (i.e., How have I improved a process in my professional life?, How do you run a good experiment? What data do you collect, and what statistical tools do you use?)

Interview
It was a long 3 step process. Talked to 2 people who worked in the plant and then the last round was with the hiring manager. Overall the questions were behavioral but the last round had some technical questions.
