I recently interviewed for a Data Engineer role and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with the hiring process. I invested a lot of time and energy preparing for the interviews, and after the initial screening I was told the team was scaling fast and hiring multiple engineers. A week later, I was informed that the role was suddenly put on hold.
A major issue was the recruiter, who was initially prompt in scheduling the first call. However, after I had to reschedule due to health reasons, he became completely unresponsive. He did not reply to follow‑up messages or basic questions about the interview structure, which made the process unclear and unprofessional. His communication came across as nonchalant and unreliable.
I’m sharing this so future candidates are aware of what to expect. The role and company seemed promising, but the hiring experience did not reflect the same level of professionalism.
