      Customer Service Specialist Interview

      13 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Portland, OR
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cozy (Portland, OR) in Mar 2019

      Interview

I had an initial phone interview with the senior corporate recruiter who was based out of Atlanta. From there I had a phone interview with the hiring manager, which was then followed by an in-person interview in the office with the hiring manager, as well as two people representing the Customer Success and Customer Service teams. From the initial email inviting me for a phone screening to third interview, just under three weeks elapsed. I have been applying to work for almost three months now, and I have made it to late-stage interviews with more than one company, so I've dealt with several recruiters and hiring managers. My experience with the Cozy hiring manager was very positive. She could answer any and all questions about the company, was fun to talk to, and made me feel comfortable. Which is huge, because some people just don't interview well. The same goes for the two reps from the success and service teams - super cool, friendly people. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the hiring manager. From day 1 she addressed me by the wrong name, despite the fact that I signed off every email with my preferred name. In the second email she ever sent me, her greeting was "Hey." She didn't even bother to include my name on that one. She couldn't tell me the correct hours and days for the position. Finally, I reached out to ask about the status of my application and she immediately hit me back with the *wrong name* and a cut and paste rejection. I honestly do understand recruiters are quite busy! To be sure, I expected nothing more than a template response. But with that dagger of an email *at the very least* get my name right for once.
