      Server Interview

      9 Jan 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      West Valley City, UT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (West Valley City, UT) in Jan 2014

      Interview

One of the 5 managers (supervisors) interviewed me. He asked me various questions. Some of them were weird, like how much money I needed to make a week to pay my bills. Some of them normal, like how many hours I would like to work & what days I would be available to work. Apparently they only hire part-time though at this location. Something came across to me as odd during the interview about how the interviewer was talking & asking questions but couldn't place my finger on it. He was kinda skiddish & liked to talk, like he was reiterating the same points in different ways about the company. Almost like he was trying to make the company sound more desirable to work for then it was.

      Question 1

Most unexpected question was if I wanted to come back for a second interview. Apparently there are levels in the interview process. Supervisor level & General Manager level.

      Interview

The interview was easy. They know most of these servers are just starting out. But they want you to know how to upsell, and how to work in a fast pace environment.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Shrewsbury, PA) in Nov 2025

      Interview

It went pretty well, just asked the norm, such as tell me a little about yourself and why do you want to work here. Just asked simple questions and told me I had the job and what day to come in next. I applied to be a server and they told me I would get 25 hours a week, but they ended up making me a to-go specialist and I’m getting like 6 hours a week. I also didn’t get scheduled for a month after my interview but I’m working a bit now.
