I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Saint Robert, MO) in Nov 2008
Interview
I initially was told to apply after I turned 18. I had to interview with a floor manager and then interview with a general manager a week later. I couldn't start the hire process until after the holiday (2-3 weeks after the initial application process). I had to make an effort to check back into the job hiring process because I was uncertain.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How are you able to handle a fast-pasted, high stress environment?
The interview was easy. They know most of these servers are just starting out. But they want you to know how to upsell, and how to work in a fast pace environment.
I applied online. I interviewed at Cracker Barrel (Shrewsbury, PA) in Nov 2025
Interview
It went pretty well, just asked the norm, such as tell me a little about yourself and why do you want to work here. Just asked simple questions and told me I had the job and what day to come in next. I applied to be a server and they told me I would get 25 hours a week, but they ended up making me a to-go specialist and I’m getting like 6 hours a week. I also didn’t get scheduled for a month after my interview but I’m working a bit now.

Question 1
Give me a situation with a difficult customer and how you handled it
Very easy, seems like they were looking for a pulse. Mine was done at the checkerboard in the dining room. not a difficult job, so not a difficult interview. I don't remember any specific questions
