      Software Tester Interview

      12 July 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Crossover for Work in Apr 2020

      Interview

Apply->few question for suitability->CCAT->English test->Proctored Assessment -> Hired. This is the thing, most reviews here will be people frustrated with the hiring process because this is not how most companies hire, especially in India where what college you come from or your grades matter. I have seen entitled IITians and experienced folks in the field fail their assessments and people from normal colleges and freshers get through. The company does not even care which college you come from, your email ID with the IIT domain does not work here. Most of the reviews are complaints from people who did not make it. So let me try and give a fair break up of the interview process. You can decide if you want to go through it on your own. 1. A basic suitability test just asks you simple questions to determine if you will fit in the company 2. CCAT - It is not easy, 50 questions in 15 min would require atleast a sincere effort, even if the questions asked are easy. In this case, the questions are important because the training and work culture is insane in the company, you are (really) expected to perform at par with the topper of the team. Which require a certian amount of IQ, and most people who fail do have the IQ, they just take the test with a mindset or in an environment that enables failure. Tip - Give a sincere attempt and you will get through 3. English Test - Very simple and easily crackable. If you can read this and find faults in my post, you are already ahead of me. 4. Proctored Assessment - This is where most people fail, because it requires the candidate to perform a assignment derived from the real work done in the company, while being procotred. It does require certain amount of hold in your domain. In case of Software tester or Manual tester, it requires you to execute 5 TCs in 50 min while you are watched carefully by someone from the company on how you do in the assignments. 5. Hiring - You pass the 4th step and you are officially hired, mostly in case of Testers, this is how it goes. But the story does not end here. 6. Procotred CCAT - You are asked to appear for CCAT again, on the day of joining, but while being proctored. Around 50% of people do not make it. Think of it, you get hired and then rejected. But it makes sense, because a lot of people try to cheat on CCATs by asking someone else to give it for them. If you clear all of that, you enter RemoteU, where you are brought upto speed of the company. The pace, is insane and will suck out the very best of you. You have been warned.

      Interview

The interview process was the last step of the whole process. The other steps were harder compared to the interview. The interview only tested how well I fit in the company. It wasn't technical in nature.

      Question 1

      Interview

The aptitude assessment test is too hard for anyone to pass, only if you have too good luck to randomly check the answers and attend 50 questions in 15 minutes.

      Interview

15 mins to solve 50 questions is just not fair in the CCAT Companies never use such high aptitude skills while working in an real scenarios. All they would want is highly skilled person but treat all them as they just don’t know anything when they join Not satisfied with the interview process It’s better given the person real life scenario and test their knowledge and experience
