      Sales Representative Interview

      25 Aug 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Sacramento, CA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at DBI Beverage (Sacramento, CA) in May 2018

      Interview

There are two in person interviews if you pass the first interview. During the first initial interview I had applied for a full-time sales position with the company. While the interview went great, the postion they posted was not what they ended up interviewing me for. It ended up being a relief sales-representative position. They asked general questions about if I knew the brands they carried, what a typical day would be like, and what the relief position would entitle. During the first interview I asked because the position was now the one I had not originally applied for if the relief position would earn comission on sales and what the hourly would be. Low and behold the interviewee did not know the answer. . During the second interview some of the same questions were asked but with more detail regarding their brands they carry. Also, the interviewee was able to answer some questions the first person could not. Overall, I would say if you are ok with carrying the companys beer in your own vehicle to make deliveries and get reimbursed for the mileage then this might be a good starting point to get into the distribution industry. However, after speaking to former employees many felt their work was undervalued and underpaid versus other distributors in the area.
