I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at DCS Recruitment (Warrington, North West England, England) in July 2020
Interview
DCS was extremely quick at arranging a telephone and getting me in for a face-to-face interview, which shows effective communication.
In the telephone interview, it was an informal chat; I was told about the role/company and wasn't asked any questions. I dealt with this by trying to find ways to make points about myself that would identify me as suitable for this position.
At the face-to-face, I was questioned; however, I was unable to answer a question fully before being spoken over. I feel this was due to high levels of enthusiasm from the hiring manager for the company and project. However, I didn't feel very listened to. I tried to keep steering the conversation back to my answers, and he did apologise. Yet by the end, whenever I was spoken over again, I had given up trying to go back to my answers.
The interviewer was very honest about what to expect with the role, which I appreciated, it showed they were not only looking for the right person but also that they wanted the individual to be happy in the position.
I left the interview with a bad gut feeling and let the recruiter I was referred through know I wouldn't be interested a couple of days later.
