I had a call with HR, then the hiring manager, then a panel of those who would be my coworkers. The final interview included a presentation. Total hours in the process: 6.
I did not get an offer since there were other applicants who had more years of experience in one area. I do not believe this means necessarily that such candidates would be a better choice. I knew I could really succeed in this role. I wished after hearing this I had more of an opportunity to explain my real experience in that area. It didn’t come up as a significant deciding factor and it could be learned relatively easily. Everyone in the panel interview asked multiple questions and they were extremely nice. Although, personally I am less likely to do interviews in the future where several future co-workers are evaluating and providing feedback as it seems impossible everyone will agree on a new hire and not everyone is seasoned at the interviewing and hiring process. The HR person was informative, kind and supportive. Overall a positive experience.
