I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Cleveland, OH) in June 2013
Interview
Applied through the website. No response. Went into store to inquire, told to apply online. Applied again. No response. Asked another manager next time I was in the store, he interviewed me on the spot. Then interviewed with the GM when he returned from lunch. I was hired that afternoon. My application was never looked at -- I filled out a paper application along with my employment paperwork after I had been hired so they would have it on file. I was actually on the clock when I filled the application out. I think their hiring process is pretty fluid... I would try in applying the store. If one manager blows you off, try again.

Interview was straight forward not hard. Was in the store and only with 1 person. Just know the company information and have reasonably good hours and it shouldn’t be a problem

I was hired on the spot after a very short, casual interview. It was just in a backroom. They asked about times I was a leader, etc. It was just one of the assistant managers. The store manager wasn't even there.
