I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Madison, WI) in Feb 2015
Interview
2 day process. First interview fielded most questions, many of which were team and sports based. Questions were relatively easy and straightforward. Offered position at end of second interview. Met with two different managers. Store manager usually performs second interview and decides if they wish to hire, but he was unavailable. Needless to say it wasn't very difficult to get the job, and I don't think it would have mattered for him to even be there.

I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Torrance, CA)
Interview
Short and Easy. Asked about availability, golf experience such as handicap, clubs, and how much I play. It was a part-time job so I didn't stress too much. It's true that I love and play golf so answers were coming from the heart and interview was more enjoyable than other places.

Interview
Asks about basic golf knowledge and retail experience. Walks you around the store to meet staff and see how you interact on the floor. As long as you’re somewhat sociable and able to speak with new people you’ll be fine.

Overall, the few questions took less than 15 minutes for both parts of the interview. One with another employee, then the next with at least an assistant manager, and the department leader on site.
