      Manager Interview

      6 July 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Leeds, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DLA Piper (Leeds, England) in Aug 2022

      Interview

A pre-interview test must first be taken and passed before qualifying for the actual interview. The actual interview was only one stage - it was smooth and professional with a quick turnaround. It was a good conversation that allowed me to ask all my questions.

      Interview

Structured and Formal: "The interview process was structured and formal. It started with a phone screening with the HR representative, followed by a technical assessment. Then, I had two rounds of interviews with the hiring manager and the team members. Finally, there was a panel interview with senior leadership." Casual and Conversational: "The interview process was quite casual and conversational. It began with an informal chat over the phone with the recruiter. After that, I had a video call with the hiring manager, where we discussed my experience and the role in detail. The last step was a friendly interview with a couple of team members to see how well I would fit into the team."

      Manager Interview

      26 Jan 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at DLA Piper

      Interview

The interview process was long and tedious. I had at least four interview. My first interview was an over the phone screen, next I met with the immediate manager - a week later, then two weeks following met with a peer and the director and finally I met with the practice group- a week after. During the time of my interview process, there were many miscommunications by the HR team at DLA Piper and myself. Other recruiters "worked" with me scheduling times ie. finding and confirming my availability. At least one interview was scheduled and cancelled without notification from the recruiting staff. The recruiter referenced emails that were never sent to me by her staff in between my second and third interviews. I only found out about the interview because I called to find out why I had not received confirmation when I was told I would have dates set. After making it through three rounds of interviews, I had conversations with the recruiter who I had been working with for the past month and was told that the manager wanted to talk me through my final interview. I spoke with the manager and my final interview was scheduled for the same week. I was scheduled to meet with three people from the practice group but my first interviewer did not show up nor did my recruiter follow up with me during my wait about the missed interview. After waiting for over 45 minutes, I interviewed with someone else from the practice group then the final interviewer came and sat in and joined our interview. It was not until my fourth interview was a writing sample or anything to speak to my ability requested. I sent a thank you letter and my writing sample to the recruiter. I never heard back from anyone from DLA Piper. I contacted the recruiter two times without a response. After going two weeks without getting a response, I contacted the recruiter once again. She finally responded telling me that she had left me a voicemail. I never received a voicemail and the recruiter never sent me anything. After two months of interviewing, it would have been nice to at least get some feedback.
